Founder, Bramley Business Network

Located some three miles south of Surrey’s historic market town of Guildford, Bramley’s position in the Surrey Hills National Landscape and its access to the Downs Link make the village a haven for wildlife. Coupled with a High Street featuring essential amenities, some might say, folks living the quintessentially English lifestyle in the picture-perfect village had it all.
But back at the start of 2024, the residents and businesses of the bustling village were left devastated to find that a slow and continuous fuel leak dating back to 2016 had caused significant groundwater contamination. Affecting local water supplies, some businesses and homes were left without water for almost six months.
Contamination cleaned up, business in Bramley was in dire need of help, feeling the pain and pinch from a six-month-long lack of footfall. With many visitors put off by the endless traffic and morale in the village low, it was important to initiate a plan that would put Bramley businesses back on the map and restore public confidence.
Found but a skip, hop and a jump away from the village, the Troop at Silverback® were sought by the Bramley Business Network (BBN) to provide guidance, support and advice to find a solution that would welcome visitors back and help boost local businesses.
It’s what we do out here in the Jungle (or Surrey Hills even) – we group together and huddle; we sit, we listen, we understand, and we find the best way to transform a bad situation into the best outcome.

In order to communicate to the wider public and increase footfall, Bramley businesses needed a visual identity, an online presence, and an ambient marketing strategy that both informed and campaigned to bring people back to the village.
First things first. The Troop at Silverback® set to work with BBN to develop and understand their purpose, vision, mission and values. These guidelines provide a north star for our design team to use all the tools at their disposal to produce deliverables that truly deliver and get the job done.
An essential document for businesses serious about becoming brands, this is more than a document – it’s a mantra that, as a multi-key-stakeholder collective, the businesses in Bramley could use to all sing from the same song sheet in perfect harmony.
It’s here that Discover Bramley is born.
An evergreen campaign and brand identity that would breathe new life into the village, The Troop set to work on a visual identity logo for the Discover Bramley brand. Featuring undulated typography, a nod to their location in the Surrey Hills, the use of neon green describes the vibrancy and energy that run through the village.

With a solid foundation to build upon, to truly shout from the treetops, Discover Bramley would need a digital presence that gives people a reason to visit. The village’s High Street and surroundings feature some amazing businesses and organisations that are not only unique to Bramley but also to Surrey and the South East.
The Troop designed and developed a directory-style website that provides visitors with all the essential information they need before visiting, or even moving to, the village. Easily accessible and easy to navigate, the website serves as the perfect introduction to village life.
While the work to date provides a continuous digital presence, it was important for BBN and the project as a whole to have annual initiatives that showed Bramley was a welcoming, happy and engaged place to visit.
An element of brand architecture was required to devise sub-campaigns that were aligned to the Discover Bramley brand. In 2025, we delivered the ‘Bunting for Bramley’ campaign, inviting local schoolchildren and members of the community to design bunting to be hung along the High Street. Visually enticing and synonymous with community spirit, the ‘Bunting for Bramley’ campaign was exceptionally well received and served as a captivating device to lift spirits and smiles in the community and beyond.

The team worked to deliver another successful project with both digital rollout and creative rollouts well received by the Bramley Business Network. Ensuring objectives were met and deliverables achieved, Discover Bramley has become a lifeline for businesses in the village while ensuring that the events of 2024 become but a distant memory.
With a brand-new brand and evergreen campaign conceived for Bramley, this project was so much more than developing and delivering a brand project. Discover Bramley is saving a High Street, restoring hope among residents, and seeing rejuvenated visitors returning again and again.
The Silverback® Troop continue to work with and support Discover Bramley, currently working together with them on their 2026 Traffic Lights campaign.
